Ms. Johnson has over twenty years of law experience counseling clients on a wide range of corporate matters including entity formation and governance, re-structuring, mergers and acquisitions, asset sales, general contracts, stock sale/transfer agreements, employment and shareholder related matters. She also assists private companies seeking to raise capital including the preparation of Private Placement Memorandums and investor related documents, as well as providing assistance to public companies with federal securities compliance and reporting under the SEC rules and regulations. She also assists companies seeking to franchise their business including the review and preparation of FDD’s, state registration and compliance, as well as providing on-going franchisor support in matters related to the franchisor-franchisee contractual relationship.
Ms. Johnson advises individuals and companies on intellectual property matters including trademark and copyright registration, oppositions, defense and prosecution of infringement, and has successfully prosecuted trademark applications for over 10 years. She also has experience regarding trademark assignment and licensing agreements.
Ms. Johnson has held the position of “Outside Counsel” for Soden & Steinberger, APLC in San Diego, California since 2010, and manages her own practice, “Chasing Glass Law, PLLC” since 2018 in Seattle, Washington.
Megan received her Bachelor of Arts at the University of Washington (Cum Laude) in 1997. She received her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law (2003) and University of San Diego Law School (Visiting Student 2002-2003).
Ms. Johnson is currently admitted to practice in Washington State and California and is member of the Washington State Bar and State Bar of California. She has also volunteered her time with Habitat for Humanity in Africa, and has served as an Americorps Volunteer for Literacy, immigrant and refugee services. She has a working knowledge of French and Spanish.
